Broughton Partners is proud to sponsor TOPSoccer, or The Outreach Program for Soccer, which is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities. Founded by US Youth Soccer, the largest youth sport organization in the country, TOPSoccer strives to provide an inclusive and safe environment where children can develop soccer skills at their own pace. TOPSoccer empowers children with disabilities to develop physical fitness, technical skills, courage, and self-esteem, all while having fun with peers.

For Broughton Partners, the partnership with Tormenta FC – Statesboro’s professional soccer team – to host the TOPSoccer program is very special. It grew out of a need that hits close to home for our CEO, Cason Carter. “I have a special needs daughter and, unfortunately, I found that there weren’t many opportunities for her to get involved in recreational community activities,” he explained.

“I thought, how can we fix this not only for my child, but every special needs child out there because they should enjoy sports and recreation and time together with friends just like anyone else,” Carter continued.

After being disappointed by the lack of recreational opportunities for his daughter, Carter came up with a creative solution. In 2019, he reached out to Tormenta FC and formed a partnership with Broughton Partners to sponsor the TOPSoccer program.

“It has turned into something really incredible for every kid involved. We at Broughton Partners are very happy to help this program thrive,” he added.

By sponsoring TOPSoccer, we further demonstrate our commitment to the local communities we serve. TOPSoccer enriches the lives of children with disabilities by providing them with a fun, supportive environment to play, learn, and grow. The partnership is a part of Broughton Partners Cares, our philanthropic program through which we make positive contributions and connections in the communities where we live and work.

Though the fall season is approaching, it’s not too late to register for the program. Registration is $25 per person. Each participant will receive a Tormenta FC Academy jersey. The program is designated for participants born between 2001 and 2017. You can access the registration page here.
